Crisis Committees
While General Assemblies or Specialized Committees work to find long-term solutions to long-term problems, Crisis Committees often handle short-term, immediate issues with swift and decisive measures.
Dual Delegate Committees
-
The Belfast Brigade: Fight for Irish Independence
-
You will simulate a committee of influential and important members during the period of 1919-1921 when
the Irish Republican Army waged a guerilla war against British rule and established the Irish Republic.
Many errors and mistakes were made during this time period, and you will have the opportunity to
engage and possibly change or alter events that occurred. It is ultimately up to you and your fellow
delegates to determine the outcome and fate of the committee. The themes you will tackle all represent
themes that are not only relevant in the time we simulate committee but also in the modern era. History
repeats itself!!

-
Alexander the Great: Lord of Asia
-
In committee, you and other delegates will aid our leader to victory and expand the mighty empire of
Ancient Greece. The challenge of this committee will be figuring out how to balance between keeping peace
at home while continuing to conquer other nations. As the war committee, it is vital to work well with one
another to ensure success. The fate of our empire is in your hands and our outcome will be decided by your
actions.

Single Delegate Committees
-
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2017 (CDC 2017)
-
Public Health: The year 2017 was a particularly difficult one for the CDC, facing numerous issues of a
changing presidency such as proposed budget cuts, along with worldwide outbreaks, and natural
disasters. Students will learn and critique the healthcare system in America.

Historical United Nations Security Council: 1992 (UNSC)
-
1992 was a crucial year in the Somali Civil War, a conflict which disrupted millions of lives and divided a
nation for over a decade. You, as delegates, now have the power to quell the violence and assist in bringing
about peace. At the same time, you must also deal with the tumultuous situation in Eastern Europe following
the fall of the Soviet Union and the power vacuum, social and economic inequality, and cultural shifts left in
the wake of its collapse. The end of the twentieth century was a period of great political unrest, and the
choices you make over the course of the committee will shape not only 1992, but the future of the world.
